Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

The ArcadeVGA does display at the proper levels, and it looks just as it did with the original hardware. I'm looking to get a little bit of an extra boost with the amp to put it closer to the color/brightness levels the LCD was at. Technically ArcadeVGA displays at VGA levels (0-1V), but the stock ...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

I've played a few games on it now, and actually my last game got all the way through Attack Mars - so I'm definitely liking the new setup! :P One thing I noticed is that some of the scenes do seem to be a bit rushed. For instance, when you go through the Robo-Lincoln phase and complete it, if it cho...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

Mine is up and running! The ArcadeVGA card is working perfectly with the original CRT monitor and I didn't have to change anything at all from the standard install - just plug the card into the motherboard and plug the VGA cable from the machine into the card. I ended up getting the PCI Express vers...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

Made it through the install, but still waiting for my ArcadeVGA card to arrive. Install was fairly painless, except for the 130MB of Ubuntu updates to wait through at about 50K per second. I didn't have any issues at all. Install took about 2.7GB total on my hard disk, so considering getting a solid...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

Grrrr, my ArcadeVGA card in my MAME cabinet that I was going to steal for this is AGP and my motherboard is PCI-express. Ordered up the PCIE version of the ArcadeVGA card, so waiting for that to arrive now. Bummer.

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

Seems like the overall timing looks the same to me. Maybe a hair quicker on NuCore - but with the stock RFM computer skipping frames all over the place, it could just be that the smoother video of NuCore makes it seem quicker. When I set mine up, I'll try to get some HD video of the stock computer a...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?

I ordered my computer parts yesterday after the kit arrived. A Core 2 Duo is new enough that I'm still using all mine for other things, so I got a Mini-ATX board, processor, memory, and power supply through NewEgg. I already had an ArcadeVGA card that I'm not using right now, so will use that to con...

Re: i love this game more

I threw my playfield in to put a few plays on it a few weeks ago and let my nephews play it a bit. It has its moments, and like Chuck said the sound is really good. The game itself is lacking, but I understand that's mostly because Lucas only gave them little pieces of imagery and sound samples and ...

Re: Those Who Attended PATZ

I hope I didn't step on any toes - that certainly wasn't my intent. I'm very excited about everything you are working on, and will be in line to buy whatever type of product you come out with! One of the things that annoys me the most about P2K is the choppy animation during explosions and it looks ...

Re: Those Who Attended PATZ

I don't have one. Until I installed the lcd in my swe1 cab I thought my rfm monitor looked great ;-) We did add gamma adjustment to nucore which is basically a software version fo what you're talking about. Plus the gamma adjustment will allow you to adjust the drive of each color independently. Wh...

Re: Those Who Attended PATZ

Do any of you guys have a video amplifier on your original P2K monitor? Putting one on mine made a huge difference in video quality - the contrast is much higher without having to set the brightness too high. Black is black (no raster glow) and colors are vivid now. I got the one from Ultimarc that ...
