Those probably will not work. We tested then a long time ago. Check the specs on current motherboards. Even though they don't have a built-in parallel port they usually have a parallel header on the motherboard. You can get a db25 that fits in a slot and connects to these headers.
Don has been working on a new distro but he's been really busy. Can't promise a date. No way to play Nucore without sound. But, we do use sdlmixer so any general, working, sound interface should work in theory. Although things tend to get messed up in Linux occasionally.
The link above contains the latest Nucore binary with this additional fix. If you've downloaded 2.25.3R please re-download the zip again and repeat the install procedure. The new version is 2.25.3aR

FYI - a number of people volunteered to create a new distro with the latest Linux and Nucore including an install script. No one ended up following through. Don has been working on a new distro in his (very limited) free time. We should have one available at some point. No promises on timing though....

I did some work on it today. It needs more =) When there's a beta version available I'll message you. I'm super busy at work and don't have a lot of free time. So I would guess anywhere from a week to a month.
