Good thing I didn't have to write it, I'd have been over the limit by about 5000 words. ;)

Re: LCD Quality

The video quality looks excellent! But in the test menu what the heck is "Langue"? :) It's the menu entry where you can change the langue of the game. The designers implemented it so that it rotates that choice from English which would read "Language" to some other languages so ...

findpinball wrote:my question if NUCORE work with hard disc or Flash memory cf / usb or something else ?
We haven't decided on the final answer to your question, but initial testing showed hard disc to be the best choice so far, however I wouldn't rule out the other choices either until we've done more testing.

So I would suggest people trying gamma first then if that doesn't do it use thye hardware amp.

Hmm, reminds me of a 'discussion' we had on previous occasions.. :)

Re: Any news on Wizard Blocks?

*if* someone wanted to do wizard block nucore could run it. *if* someone had the original source code it would probably be best finished as a true pin2k game (same api's etc) *if* there is no source code to be found then there are all sorts of additional questions need to be asked before giving a p...

Hrrmm..

I read up a bit more on Robert's combo shooter/button mech and he said he had to modify the RFM playfield & coil to allow the SWE1 shooter to fit, so I guess it won't be as easy as I'd hoped. I'll continue to investigate this when things slow down some and see what else can be done to improve.

Making the swap easier

I forgot to mention that we're also experimenting with the ability to get rid of the RFM Launch button for people who do swaps. Why? Swapping the plunger with the launch button is a time consuming and annoying process. We'd like to be able to have it so you can just keep the plunger installed all th...

Re: RFM / SW

I voted I own both... I have a RFM, with a SW ep. 1 conversion. It's never been used by me because I don't want the hassle of the switch over! I'm ready for the simple playfield swap option. Key word there is SIMPLE. We aren't all computer gods. I held off for a long time on a P2K game for just tha...

I recalled a guy from Sweden who was trying to create a customized p2k-pinball themed around the music band Sparks and presto: I found the link to Sparks pinball 2000 . Now it looks like the site haven't been updated since 2007, so maybe he gave up, I don't know, but it looks like he was able to ch...

P.S. I would pay money for something like this (new game, that is). I'm not sure what the development effort/time would be and obviously the audience is limited to RFM owners, but if 200 owners paid $100 for a new game, would $20,000 make it worthwhile? Heck, I'd pay $200 for a new software game if...

So do you think any of you or anyone you're aware of would ever create a Attack/Revenge from Mars #3 ? Now THAT would be COOL even if it is still on the same playfield. Yes it would be way cool!! We've discussed this briefly as I had the same idea myself. There's a lot of challenges to doing it of ...

Monitor Poll

I'm curious what monitor people plan on using with Nucore. Prefer the vintage look with the original or planning to ramp up to a new lcd?

Port I/O doesn't get any simpler than a parallel port, but by protocols I meant addressing protocols. It's just an eight bit interface and it seems there needs to be a layer that specifies to the board whether you're reading or writing and which register to address or, if a totally polled interface...

Cool video, much better than the picture.. :)

Is there supposed to be audio, as I didn't hear any. The colors definitely look much more vibrant on the lcd than the original monitor.
