Re: Nucore 2.25 Release!
Thank you for your support of this platform, I have already gotten a glut of questions since we mentioned it to our followers. I am going to paste them here (silly or not) and relay your answers back. Might be the basis for an FAQ. What is the barrier to posting an older distribution of Nucore so th...

Re: Nucore 2.25 Release!
Good to hear that there is a move to get this going again! It has been a long strange trip. It does raise a few questions and since others probably have the same questions I figured it was more productive to ask here. Nucore is once again available to everyone! The download link indicates for existi...

Re: Monitor Options for Nucore
I think a real solution here would be if someone can post a schematic for a 31khz block. I would imagine a band pass filter that allowed around the 15khz range and prevented 31 would work, I just don't happen to have one. I am searching around to see if I can find a pre-canned monitor protection cir...

Re: Monitor Options for Nucore
Another thought on monitors.... Ultimarc makes a interface called the Jpac that gives you a 31khz to 15khz converter that automatically disables when 15khz is present. Of course it would require a minimum of work to convert to use for our purposes. This should allow you to use the stock monitor. Cos...

New Classic Video Game and Pinball show
Hi guys, After a long involvement with a long running show I have started up a new show with some great partners. We wanted to bring more polish, more content and more pinball as well. In this month's show we covered pinball 2000 and gave coverage to NuCore and Tilt the movie. Keep in mind that I mi...

Re: Fantastic upgrade of images with video amp
Cap kits are a tough problem. I have done 1979 monitors (29 years old) with a standard cap kit (ie 75% of the caps) and perfection resulted. I also had a 1971 monitor (Computer Space) that had a cap can which was a PCB in a can that had a group of caps in it. That took every single cap. Start simple...

Merry Xmass and a happy NuYear
One of my favorite features in MAME (with Arcade OS) is that the menu turns green and red and snow falls every year around Christmas. How about a feature during the attract mode that would have something like snow, martians in santa caps, throwing snowballs etc. when Christmas rolls around?

Re: POLL: Pay for a video converter or replace monitor?
NICE! I will go that route as I have a nice bright monitor. I will probably throw in a borrowed 22 LCD and see how it looks, maybe it is better looking, maybe not. That point made above is a valid one, LCDs have little long term data. Short term they seem pretty solid. But I can point to the Microvi...

I recall hearing something in one of the extra clips in Tilt about 14v.

Re: POLL: Pay for a video converter or replace monitor?
We can run Nucore from a terminal without xwindows but there are other issues that come up. We *may* be able to solve these issues (we have to a certain extent.) Right now I'm not comfortable suggesting the card. Ok, not trying to reverse engineer, just really curious so this question is just to sa...

Re: POLL: Pay for a video converter or replace monitor?
As was mentioned earlier, why not use a card that can sync down to CGA, this one for example is designed to drive arcade monitors in machines running MAME> http://www.ultimarc.com/avgainf.html It would seem to me that since it is based on a radeon chipset that finding a linux driver would be an easy...

Re: Update 12.06.08
Does the juke have the capacity to play videos? A main feature I would like is being able to play Tilt movie clips and perhaps music videos.
