Update: Ran alsamixer again and the headphone output is at zero, but not muted. I can select it but cannot increase the volume.

Re: swep1 sound problem again.
Assuming that the original amp was not the problem, and that I got a new cable with my nucore amp, that would mean both cables were bad. I think this is unlikely. Also when I unplug the cable from the computer sound jack you immediately hear the pop from the speakers. So, I think the amp and speaker...

swep1 sound problem again.
Ok, this one is really confusing. I unplugged my machine and moved it. When I plugged it back in everything booted ok, Game plays but no sound. Went into the system bios and checked to make sure audio was enabled, then checked alsamixer to make sure levels were turned up. Everything checked out ok b...

Re: SWEP1 won't start
I was still having trouble with occasional "no boot" on the game so, I decided to replace the USB cable thinking it might be defective. When I unplugged it, the usb connector on the Nucore board fell off. (Probably what was causing the intermittent boot problem) How can I get the Nucore bo...

Re: NEED HELP UPDATING AUDIO DRIVERS FOR NEW MOTHERBOARD
USB board was connected ok, I rebooted and went into the system bios and changed the audio front panel settings to AC97 from HD and it worked. I'll wait and see if the problem comes back.

Ok, I did the total wipe and reinstall. Now the game won't boot at all. Once it gets past the Nucore 1.0 splash screen it says: Starting emulation ****reset***** Nucore Shutdown Watchdog sleeping during shutdown audio shutdown launcher(6) hardware error running local boot scripts (etc/rc.local) Then...

My original foxconn mb died after only 3 months so I replaced it with an asus m2n68-am plus. everything works ok except the game sound (very soft) I tried maxing out the settings in alsamixer with no effect. Re: SWEP1 won't start
I checked both usb plugs and they were both seated well, I unplugged and replugged them anyway and now it boots. Go figure. I was thinking back to when it wouldn't boot and I seem to remember some message flying by about some check or other not having been performed in x times and it said "chec...
