Re: New Nucore Cases
I put in my order on the 5th, but somehow missed the notice because I am dumb. Fortunately, I was able to get Terry to refund that part of my order, and I'll place the order again once the new cases come in!

Re: Order Placed!
I just finally put in my order for a complete! Looking forward to putting it in my RFM, enjoying some RFM for a couple months, and then going crazy hacking it and trying to write my own game!

I'm selling a Lord of the Rings, and in a few days when I'm done fixing it up I'll also be selling a High Speed. I also had an Eros One, but I sold that last night (yay!).Pinball Wizard wrote:What pinball machines are you selling?

pillarboxing in the OS for widescreen monitors
This is mostly a note for myself to try when I get my NuCore setup, but I thought I'd mention it here rather than just emailing it to myself in case it helps anyone else. The following command (typed in a terminal window in Ubuntu) should fix the problem with the image getting stretched on a widescr...

FA: CRT monitor from an RFM
I replaced the CRT monitor on my RFM with an LCD, and now I'm selling the CRT on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110552522072 Unfortunately the PC on this RFM machine is shot, so I couldn't test the monitor and have no idea if it works. But I'm selling it and its compone...

can you give me a link for the converter you used? I have a Neo-Geo that I'd like to convert to LCD. Thanks!

Dell P2210 fits almost perfectly!
I pulled the CRT monitor out of my RFM head this weekend in preparation for whatever crazy stuff I'd have to do to make the Dell P2210 monitor I have fit. Once I got the CRT out of the metal bracket, I discovered that the size of the bracket was actually pretty close to the size of the P2210, so I r...

Re: Question about Replacement Chip In POWER DRIVER BOARD
it sounds like this will be one of your first desoldering jobs, and replacing a chip on a Pin 2k driver board is a pretty daunting task for your first desoldering job. The cheapest option is to use a soldering iron and a solder sucker to desolder the chip. Just be careful to keep your soldering iron...

man, "carte mere" and "la tour" sound so much classier than "motherboard" and "case".

Re: My Nucore Installation - Ground Loop Noise Solution
Nice! I was going to try a ferrite bead myself when I got to this point in the installation before trying a separate power supply, and I'm happy to see that it works!

Re: Original Audio Amp modification to use with Nucore
one of these would work for the power supply too, right?

also, don't you mean "10 uF 50 volt capacitor" rather than "10 uF 50 volt resistor" on the "parts needed list"?

Re: UBUNTU install
Will NuCore work with Ubuntu 10.04? It's what I have on my laptop and it would be nice to have the same version on my Pin2k for crazy hacking (the good kind, not the bad kind) purposes.
