I can't tell you how many people have said they are nervous turning on their pin because of no replacement parts. I guy from Sweden sent me an email because he has a machie and no roms. Very soon these won't be issues anymore.

Thanks for the kind words ;-)

Re: The final 'product'

Like I said, there's no reason why you shouldn't be compensated for your work, I just don't know what the end 'product' will be. Please explain. No offense taken ;-) I think I just misunderstood your statement. The final product will be a kit (build yourself) or a complete turnkey replacement for e...

Re: The final 'product'

Whilst it's only right you get compensated for all the work you've put into it, I'm not sure I see how that will work at this time. Prism cards are very hard to find and if you do they run 1k+. ROMs will most likely never be run again. Motherboards and processors are obsolete. So why wouldn't we be...

ok, WOW... The brightness and color quality of my 19" junk lcd I'm using for testing was pretty incredible off the mirrored glass. So this definately can be done and after all the smoke clears I WILL be doing it ;-) There is only one real issue. A 19" lcd isn't wide enough to extend the p...

Steve is right about #4. We do provide all of the IO and graphics handling so you would just need to worry about game code and graphics. I was thinking from the standpoint of how I would do things differently but the systems we've built work pretty well. <dream> I would love to have access to the or...

The new video was planned but delayed. I have been so busy working on other issues I really haven't had time. We did decide to clean our code significantly. We had lots of options, test routines, and did things in a slower manner to allow easy testing. Any day now the new optimized code should be cl...

I have really noticed an improvement in the responsiveness of the switch to the right of the main target bank. I think it's a proximity switch. It didn't register well on fast shots on the original hardware. With our box hooked up it registers just about every time. We do actually run the software f...

With "limited" write cycles of 100k writes I don't see that as being a big issue Depending on the IO details of their implementation it could be a major issue. If they are going heavy on disk IO a thumb drive may not last long at all. It would be interesting to know the algorithm used by ...

Re: New / Customized Games

I was wondering what the current thought is on the difficulty of modifying or creating a new pb2k game with this system. Are the 'roms' in a binary format, or is there some level of ability to modfy/replace them? Obviously we don't have source code or a development environment, but would this produ...

All of the animations in the game are bitmaps. I'm sure they used a 3d package to design and animate them then converted them to 2d.

Animation Quality

Some good news. I noticed that the quality of our animation appeared to be a little better than the original machine. Steve and I have discussed this a few times and he never believed me until he ran some tests yesterday. It appears that we do draw frames more consistantly than the original. So we h...

We very much appreciate it. It is really helping us decide how to best handle certain issues. We do like the suggestions too so please keep them coming.

It has always been my plan to make the software part of the solution available to customers via the web. No matter which drive type is chosen you could, and eventually would, have failure. We will provide a way for you to recover from that.

I think this is the single trickiest thing we will have to deal with. I am about to start testing on all sorts of machines/cpus/chipset/graphics cards. In the end we want this to work with as many parts as possible. Realistically, we are only three guys and can only support so much ourselves. We rea...
