Re: Help needed
This seems like a case where a digital storage scope would be useful. Do you have access to one? You could put it on the diverter drive output. If the diverter logic signals the diverter to operate, and it doesn't, the problem is downstream. If the diverter logic fails to signal the diverter when it...

Re: Help needed
Resistors should not generally get that hot, especially the fractional wattage resistors used on those boards.
I've been following your problems with interest but, sorry, I've had no solutions to offer.

You guys aren't running a linux "so called realtime" kernel? Straight Ubuntu?
I was thinking earlier today how I'd love to write a game on QNX.

Re: Poll - Technical Expertise
I just reread the poll questions for this thread and realized an important option was left out.
"Please make a complete solution. I'm an expert with computers and thus don't want to f**k with it."

Re: POLL: Pay for a video converter or replace monitor?
I've got a good monitor and would want to keep it. There's no evidence that an LCD will last longer and they may well not last as long. Plus, I'd like to keep the game as original as possible and don't really want to mess up the head trying to mount an LCD. Maybe if I was at expo my opinion would be...

Re: High Scores.
Thanks, but there are a ton of guys who can kick my butt. My high scores all came from one six week stretch when RFM was about the only game I played. The best I've done lately in the RGP league is around 600k IIRC. To get back to the 1B neighborhood would probably take a week or two focusing on jus...

Re: High Scores.
I tried to post a picture but MS Photo Editor crashes on this machine and the file was too big to post as-is.
Anyway, here's my best RFM scores;
GC: 1,737,750,090
HS1: 1,084,104,090
HS2: 1,055,448,670
HS2: 1,020,822,320
HS4: 931,188,640

Hooray! No News!
Either the alpha testers aren't actually *using* the code or you've done an excellent job.
Since you've been in touch with them the former is surely not the case, so Good Job!

Satellite internet is not too good for video.
Did they have sounds coming from the game? If so, were they chimes or the real sounds?

Re: Update 11.17.08
It can't be worse than Windows. That fine company (aka "bunch of bastards") sends updates every other day that cause all sorts of "surprises".

Re: Update 11.17.08
Those kind of issues are frustrating. There's nothing quite like software, the interdependencies can be mind boggling.
And just when you think it's nailed along comes another little surprise.
Who knows what evil lurks in the next update?

Re: RFM Topper
Here's a nutty idea out of nowhere.
Remember those rotating mirrors clubs used to put above dance floors to provide a continuous wave of light spots around the bar?
It might be cool if the walls were dark and each one of those dots was a saucer
