Power supply/GI/etc. Those parts have finite lifespans too.

The only way I'd use a juke feature would be if it were playing content from a local server and if it added something any other networked player doesn't have. The lightshow idea works - that was my first thought too. If it had to be playing local content it just wouldn't be worth the wear on the gam...

You probably couldn't do that legally because you'd have to crack the DVD's encryption in order to get those clips. That is a DMCA violation. They would definitely be better off just giving the ability to play clips and providing no content at all. It's not hard for folks to get their own DVDs to ke...

That's what the "I need more details" is for rather than a vote of maybe? :) That's the danger of subjective multiple choice... you mean it that way, but maybe is a very ambiguous term. They could easily say "maybe, if the price is right" rather than "I need more info becau...

I bought a good condition RFM for 300 quid (about $600). This was without the computer or case. Everything else was good, including a perfect playfield with zero wear. Took me a while to build up the parts, but it cost another 400 quid (about $800) to build up the computer/case/prism, this included...

I said that because I don't have an RFM. I want one, but have never bought because of the prism/computer issue, combined with the high price. This could convince me to pick up a dead prism RFM if I can find one and replace it with your product. I'm guessing others just want to know how much it will ...

I say call it Jim.

What's wrong with your RFM? It's dead, Jim.

Not anymore!

Man, I don't see any reason this would have to involve soldering. About the most extreme thing hardware wise I could see this needing would be maybe some crimping - but a harness adapter isn't hard to have made or make by hand on a low volume product. I also wouldn't worry about needing specific mod...

Bah... haven't even been able to find a working RFM, nevermind one without computer and prism.

Hrm. How many completely non tech people can reasonably be expected to use a product like this? I know there are plenty of pin owners who don't know a transistor from a big sister but those are the same guys who would be paying someone like us to set this up for them.

On the playfield glass? Funky, but it makes sense. I still say a good glass shop should be able to reproduce that. It may be spendy, though, to do in small quantities.

Is that the monitor bezel? What could it possibly be that can't be duplicated by a glass shop?

~20GB hard drives can be had free all day long for tech people.

You have to compare the price of the drive + the price of the IDE - CF adaptor. That CF adaptor isn't free.
