Re: SWE1/RFM shaker motor option

Along the lines of the Star Trek shaker motor/controller/harness being put together and available at PINBITS... create support for an optional shaker motor. SWE1 and RFM would both be great with a shaker motor. Perhaps coordinating with those guys since they have indicated the idea of leveraging th...

Re: Big flashy Intro

Along the lines of the intro screen ideas, adding video, etc. If you did a big flashy intro: You could start with some music, add a shaker motor rumble (per my other suggestion), kick in with some video, and then playfield lights --- it could make a really cool flashy intro. This would just be at p...

If you are saying have Star Wars use the RFM button, it cannot work. There's no solenoid to kick the ball onto the field..

However there's a similar idea for RFM that we are planning.

Re: PB2K Jukebox?!?! Video

Yeah, figured as much... Could you PM me the ones I missed? Ya got me curious! Yep.. I don't think you want to create a UPnP server, but rather a client (a.k.a. "control point"). I think with the appropriate amount of cutting and pasting, one of these two projects should get you a few mil...

Re: PB2K Jukebox?!?! Video

Thanks for your feedback Chuck. You got all the songs right that you guessed, but of course, the ones you missed are the ones I'm expecting few people to know. ;) We had never really thought of the upnp idea until you and chad mentioned it, and I think it's really a great idea. We implemented it the...

Re: Legal Issues

Hey Chuck and Team, I don't want to draw attentenion to the elephant in the room, but have you run into any legal issues with WMS, Gene, or Wayne? I would think this product would fall into the category of Aftermarket replacement parts, as long as you are not modifying the original game code, but I...

Ok I did some more searching and found: http://www.columbia.edu/~ariel/acpi/acpi_howto.html#latest_driver_and_utils This pretty much lays out what can and can't be done with ACPI it looks like most of the functions that We would need are built into the Linux Kernel. (assuming it is a Fairly recent ...

http://sourceforge.krugle.com/kse/projects/Od00n0D#4 I think the fanspeed info and core temp are contained within the ACPI tables and I believe it can be accessed without too much trouble using some of the code from the above link. Hope this helps I didn't do any programming when I was in the biz.....

Re: Another Request HW monitor.

Have you already planned for some kind of Hardware monitoring system? For example if the CPU fan is failing Have a Red Warning box appear during Attract mode that states "Fan Failing" OR "Danger High CPU temp" We've not really discussed this, although it's a good suggestion. I d...

It works surprisingly well. Glass side up. The Knobs that help support the backbox keep the translite from sliding down. So no holding is necessary. I agree this method works very well. I've used in many times. Adding support for a 2nd monitor might be do-able, but most likely not, as linux is a re...

Great suggestion - I was actually thinking of suggesting it also, but just forgot to mention it, since I saw this on Ultrapin and thought it would be great for NUCORE also.

It's pretty similar but there might be a couple of subtleties. Now, if you yank the glass and put the ball in the shooter lane the ball *automatically* shoots back into play and it should wait until the player shoots the ball to continue. I was also thinking that after a couple of failed ball searc...

Re: Web Tools For OPS.

OK here is an Idea hopefully not already under development.... Payphones use to have software that allowed OPS to call up the phone and view the phone usage statistics. IE how many quarters are in the bin. Would it be possible to integrate this type of remote reporting, possibly with error logs / s...

Re: Ball search remove glass feature

OK, this is sort of related to the ability to PAUSE a game. Sometimes the ball gets stuck somewhere where you have to remove the glass to retrieve it (like behind the slingshot rubbers). It would be great if after several failed ball searches the game would allow you to remove the glass, retrieve t...
