My understanding about the washed out colors on the stock monitor is that it was due to the voltages not being as high as they should be for the monitor used. Doesn't the ArcadeVGA card drive the display at the proper levels? Based on your post, I would say you believe it isn't.

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
Well, my plans got boned. My old 19" computer monitor that I was hoping to use with Nucore ended up having too large a throat on the tube so it doesn't fit in the upper chassis. As I've stated before, I have not seen an LCD that I'm happy with as the backlight always has enough of a glow to rui...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
1. A switch would be great. But, the replacing of the .bmp is a very acceptable workaround. 2. Great. Not really a linux guy so thank you very much for the point in the right direction. 3. Great again. No rush for the directions but I am glad to hear it is able to be done. I was never that intereste...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
I'll have to see where I remember the comment from. There was some reference to using old hardware that you had around. But, dual cores have been around for so long now, you could have just meant reusing an older dual core. No real biggie. It still doesn't make sense why you would specifically prohi...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
Now why would you prevent Nucore from running without a dual-core processor? Multi-threaded apps have been running on single core processors for a long time. Since core processors are still being made and there are single cores that are actually more powerful than the low end duals. It's one thing t...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
Hey Gang - here's some questions and comments from me... First - Chuck, I'll understand if you don't want to give details, but I hope you will. Can you share with us how many there are that are part of the early adopter club and have hardware? Specifically, how many non-beta testers are installing a...

Re: So, who will be the first to setup their machine?
Shipment came over the weekend but we were out of town. I hope to get the install running on the PC sitting next to the game sometime this week. Then I can figure out when I can get time to actually do the permanent install.

Re: RFM latest software version??
Wow - that's wacked. Where the hell did that come from? Did someone just do a hex-edit of the code?
Also, 1.5 is what I'm running which is the latest I've seen available. What is different in 1.6 and where can it be had?

Re: Update 05.18.09
You mention issues with Linux. I've got a system ready to install that is 8.04 LTS which was the what you had mentioned earlier. Is that the version you guys are still designing to? If you've changed, I'll find some free time to update my base install.

Re: Machine crashed twice/ Coil Buzz
This is a weird issue. We've never had this show up on a bug report for nucore. But I've also never experienced a crash like this on the original system. You guys are running 1.5 or 1.6 right? 1.5. I've heard about 1.6 but never seen it available. I also never had this with the original system - un...

Re: Machine crashed twice/ Coil Buzz
Well, I had never seen the crash myself until this past weekend. Martian Bowling, 2 frames were spares. 3rd frame had a couple during first "roll" and was probably going to be a spare. As soon as the ball hit the upper switches - BAM - total machine reset. It will be interesting to see if ...

Re: RFM/SWE1 ROM Availability Update
Ah... makes sense. Thanks! Damn what is taking so long for the blunder from down under to get the files up? Have a SWE1 playfield and absolutely no way of playing it is getting really old. - Kevin Well, at this point I'm not sure what good the ROMs will do you. Until they ship NuCore, the files won...

Re: Update 04.13.09
Yea, there is an inherent ground loop in your scheme that is hard to eliminate. You have the ATX power cable (5V, 12V, GND) with the ground running back to the power supply and connecting to multiple places (ie: hard drives, motherboard, etc) which may have chassis connections. Then, you have the co...

Re: Update 04.13.09
Yea, if you're talking about the on-board sound on the motherboard, you can run into this. As it is, the motherboard based chips are noisy simply because the analog amp shares the same power supply as all the high-speed switching stuff. Even if you have an external amp, there is still an amplifier t...
