Re: RFM/SWE1 ROM Availability Update
That's a huge technical hurdle for a lot of the userbase... nice one!

Re: Nucore Pricing 03.10.09
Heh, well, at least we'll have a couple of us working the bare min cost angle right from the start... I'm going to have to start scavenging around for a PC that meets those specs. Let's see just how close to the $400 this can really be done!

That might be how I do it just because I already have a couple sets of decent car speakers and a 2 channel amp sitting on a shelf.

That's good to finally have... now I can figure out what config to go with and plan out when the cash is available since I have a total...
Is it going to require a specific version of the AVGA? I have a PCI AVGA just sitting here...

That's usually true in general... a little faster, a little less reliable over the long term.

Re: Update 03.05.09
If you want to go the high-end route, like I did, you'll need a 4 channel amp, you'll want new speakers, and a power supply for the amp. I used an Alpine 200 watt amp, 2 eclipse 2 way front speakers, a JB subwoofer, and a 600 watt computer power supply. I think it all ran me about 300 bucks which w...

Re: Worldwide Tournament Support
Support for that is part of the base RFM software. Since NuCore isn't changing the RFM base logically NuCore would support the tournament so long as NuCore does retain standard network ability. The juke feature seems to bear that out. From the outside I see no reason NuCore doesn't already support t...

Re: Update 02.25.09
Oh I wasn't talking about offering it to people FREE. That's a bit much to expect without a formal arrangement. Given the amount of permutations that have been discussed here, though, setting up certain beta users for certain product versions is specific enough that minor discounts would b...

Re: Update 02.25.09
It's a pretty common practice with computer games to offer beta testing with pre-orders. Fans get to play whatever game before everyone else. With some games that are nearly finished it can be cool. With ones that are horribly unfinished it's a complete waste of time. I understand the concept, I am...

How is beta testing a benefit at a full preorder price? Beta testing is a service.

If you have certain spots that keep burning out quickly I'd recommend figuring out why over patching the issue.

Re: POLL: Please give us your 2 cents about a Nucore case
Would Nucore fit into existing case if the old hardware is removed? Current motherboards don't work in the old case unfortunately. Just curious why this is? Too big? I/O ports not situated coincedentally? I'm a pretty heavy DIYer so if I could save substantial cash going with my own case I would do...

Re: Update 01.29.09
There are a couple of "arcade museums" about an hour from me north and south that have good pins... but other than that, nothing at all within an hour or for at least another hour after that.
On the total bonus side one of those is a tiny barely used arcade museum and has a Big Bang Bar.

Hell it would be major news around here if there were ANY pinball on location.
