Just when I thought I had the graphics subsystem as optimized as it could be steve drops a bomb on me. Someone here asked a question about replacing original graphics. On our almost daily call yesterday steve and I discussed this issue. It seems that he forgot to tell me something strange he found in the graphics subsystem. I was pretty amazed at what he thought he had found. I wrote some code to test his findngs this morning and sure enough I found the same thing. I was able to further quantify what he found and managed to re-write the graphics routines and reduced the rendering time significantly.
