Ok,

Got my Dell 22" widescreen today. Since I used a vesa mount it was a drop-in replacement. What a cool picture. The widescreen actually works way better than a 4:3 IMO. If you have the chance, come to PATZ and check it out. very cool.

Display,Flat Panel Display 22W,E228WFP,Black,Dell Americas Organization

bought it from their clearance center for 240 I think.

Nice monitor. It also allows you to do the proper adjusting to the picture so it works well in this application.

Keep in mind this will not work with the original computer unless you buy a video converter. It definately works with our system though. I'll post pics in a bit.

sorry for the blurry pic.

The green light in the upper right corner is the monitor power. I will be covering that this weekend.

That looks f*king... Awe....ful!!

I'm not sure why you'd even post this really.. :)

So cmon, get a good picture so we can all salivate..

You'll probably need to mount the camera on a tripod and use a timer to get a stable picture with such low lightning conditions.

Cool video, much better than the picture.. :)

Is there supposed to be audio, as I didn't hear any. The colors definitely look much more vibrant on the lcd than the original monitor.

No audio. What I said was a little dull and I didn't have time to edit ;-)

Today I'm picking up some new speakers (fronts at least.) I was cranking some tunes last night and the front speakers sound good but could sound better ;-)

I'm really happy with the amp too. It does draw too much power from the pin supply though so I'm going to get an additional power supply for it. Removed a bunch of weight by replacing crt with lcd. Added weight back in by adding big amp, additional power. There goes my back again

:(

Well I bought a good computer power supply. The amp runs great. Also bought a pair of eclipse 2 way speakers and they sound damn good. Now that it's all working it just time to tidy everything up for patz.

How about some final pics of the 22" monitor install? Isn't it too big for the original hole?

It is too big but in a good way. I mounted it just like the other monitor. The picture from the back wouldnt look any different. The front of the monitor sits on the outside of the head just like the old crt did. When I clean up the head I will take pics of everything. It's kind of a mess right now.
