This is the first steps at making a topper for my machine. Some of the background ships will have leds as well as the saucer around the perimeter. The Martians eyes will be lit as well. This is the first time that I had the image enlarged and it wasnt cheap LOL Im not sure if the black is black enough.
Its not mounted its just leaning against candlesticks for proof of concept.

Do you think that the background image is too small?
Should it be even with the machines outsides its even with the insides now?
Should it be in a V shape or curved as to add depth?
Should the saucer be in a different location or angle?

The black definitely needs to be blacker. It seems that the topper should be as wide as the backbox too, and some method of increasing depth would be cool. Maybe a hollow box painted black with the scene at the rear of the box?

Also, the contrast between the wall color and the topper is pretty stark. Perhaps the wall could be repainted a little darker color?

I love the ship. I probably wouldn't use the background though.

Here's a nutty idea out of nowhere.

Remember those rotating mirrors clubs used to put above dance floors to provide a continuous wave of light spots around the bar?

It might be cool if the walls were dark and each one of those dots was a saucer

Not sure I am liking the back art or not. The saucer is awesome though. Would be cool if you could make the saucer slowly rotate.

Here are pics of the saucer up close with the Martian installed. When done his eyes will light and the perimeter of the saucer will have leds in a chase sequence giving the appearance that it is rotating. The 7 Purple dots around the Martian are Leds that work now. the seat also illuminates with these leds. Im going to attempt replacing the purple for red leds. Im still up in the air about the background pic.
