Volume too low when multiple machines being played.

Post by Bay78 »

The only other issue with Nucore I've found is I have 15 Pinball machines. And when I have people over and multiple machines are being played at the same time the Nucore volume cranked all the way up and its hard to hear. Is there a setting in Linux or something to turn the volume up ? I have the volume cranked all the way to 31 in the pin2000 menu and the volume is o.k if its the only machine being played but can't hear it with other machines going. Any suggestions? :D

1) Connect a keyboard to your Nucore machine.
2) Press F1 key to exit
3) login as root/nucore
4) type alsamixer and hit enter.
5) change master and front volume to around 93

This will make it louder.

I've done that. And yes it is louder but I have have to have it CRANKED to 31 to get to a "decent" volume and I know next time I have people over they are going to say they can barely hear it over other machines. I would say after going into the alsamixer and cranking up the volume to max on both and max on the pin2000 menu to 31 its probly comparable to 10 if I was using the original pin2000 computer and amp. I love the product just wish I could get it louder. :D

What amplifier are you using?

I'm using the nucore audio amp that I got in the Nucore complete package.

Follow the instructions above for changing the volume. Once the levels are set to 93 hit the escape key - this will take you back to the command prompt and type:

sync

then hit enter. This will make sure the volume changes are committed to disc. See if this helps.
