I keep calling it "the product." I think we need a name for it. Any ideas?

I like what everyone has posted so for. Dejvue in the tile somewhere would be cool. I also like the "Virtual" idea that a few have posted..

Why not something simple like "Virtual RFM"? "Virtual P2k" or "Virtual PB2k" would also cool, but may run into name copyright problems if someone wants to be a jerk. The name has to be something that says what it is without too much thinking.

How about "RFM EMU"

I can't think of how else to fit "Dejvue" into a title, But I like it...

It's not a virtual game - it is actually running the game in the original form, but on different hardware.

Is this actually an emulator? Or is it running on a similar CPU as the original? Or perhaps decompiled and then recompiled for a more common CPU on an x86 motherboard? I actually don't know what CPU the original P2K platform runs on.

This in not meant to steal the thread......

The Original Motherboard and CPU is basically an x86 type platform with a slightly different chipset. The Cyrix GXM (called MediaGX)is an all in one type PC board. The Vidoe, sound, etc is run by the GXm Processor. For P2K to work the Motherboard has to have the cx5520 chipset. The PRISM card takes over the boot process before the Power on Self test initiates so the PRISM has complete control on the Motherboard. The PRISM also assigns interrupts to the CPU and the chipset for the clock cycles.

So.. Is is the project a virtual P2K.. Sort of.

Is it an Emulator... I would think so since the software is emulating the GXm CPU, PRISM card, ROMS, sound portion of the PRISM, Sound AMP, Video Driver and cx5520 Chipset.

Is it Dejvue.. I think so..

I say call it Jim.

What's wrong with your RFM? It's dead, Jim.

Not anymore!

I like Jim ;-)

One of my really obscure suggestions was jordan-one.

Don't even ask ;-)

But... we kind of like the idea of using an acronym as a name. Here's an example: SAM - super advanced machine. See what you can come up with along these lines ;-)

That's kind of a cool name, but everytime I think about it, it makes me laugh, since i have visions of the famous who's on first skit by abbot & costello..

Customer:
Yes, I'm interested in your product, what's it called.
Us:
Next
Customer:
No, the current one.
Us:
Next
Customer:
Not interested in your next product, how about your current one.
Us:
Yes it's next
Customer:
Ok, but what's current
Us:
Next

etc..

Funny stuff.
